Assignment Source

The Assignment Source screen displays all the assignment source records currently set up in the system. These records are used to set up assignments, which are rules used for calculating time and attendance information, for scheduling employees, for calculating benefits, etc. Examples of assignment sources are On Call, Lunch, Shift Differential (ShiftDiff) ,or Maximum Work Stretch (MaxWrk).

The assignment source records establish specific information about an assignment, including the type of criteria used to determine which employees should be given that assignment. For example, if an assignment could be based on either an employee's job class, organization unit or daily hours, these options would be selected in the Assignment Determination screen.

The values for a specific rule are assigned to employees using Assignment Codes.

There are many standard Assignment Sources included in the system. Most of the fields of the Standard records are not editable. However, standard records can be replicated (copied) and the values modified to create a customized assignment source record. The following Section options are available when viewing a record:

General

Contains the general information regarding this assignment source.

Assignment Determination

 

Determines the fields that are included in the assigned criteria for this Assignment Source. These fields are then available on the Criteria section in the Assignment Codes screen.

Calculation Exceptions

Displays any exception values used by this Assignment Source for calculation processing.

Calculation Indicators

Displays any indicators values used by this Assignment Source for calculation processing.

Calculation Parameters

Displays any parameter values used by this Assignment Source for calculation processing.

Calculation Rules

Displays any special rules used with this Assignment Source in calculations processing.

Record Management

Depending on the user's authorization level, the following actions may be available. Note: The options listed below are not available for some screens.
