Steps for Replicating an Assignment Source

An assignment source can be replicated (copied) and modified to create a customized assignment source without having to set up ALL the values for a new code. This saves set up time.

To replicate (copy) an assignment source, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Configuration section>Assignment card, select the Assignment Source screen.
  2. Using the Search criteria, search for the record to be copied and open that record.
  3. Select the Replicate button from the left pane. A copy of the original assignment source record is created, with all the settings of the original.
  4. The Code field can be updated, but must be a code that is not being used for another assignment source record.
  5. The Description field should be updated to identify the replicated record.
  6. The Home Distribution field is filled in with the value from the original record and is read only.
  7. Select the Indicators and/or parameters tab (if applicable). The default indicator settings of the original record are defaulted. Update any of the setting values for the replicated record.
  8. Click on the Save button at the bottom of the screen to save these indicator values.
  9. Depending on the Assignment Source, one or more of the following additional section button options may be available in the left pane. If any of the values should be changed, open and modify the values, and then click on the Save button at the bottom of the screen to save the values.
  10. The calculation exceptions, indicators, or parameters can also be replicated and modified. For more information, see Steps for Replicating a Calculation Exception, Calculation Indicator, or Calculation Parameter.
  11. When all screens are updated, click on the Save button at the bottom of the screen to save the assignment source record.
