Steps for Adding a Coverage Set

Active

Indicates whether this coverage set is currently being used by the system and can be assigned (Yes/No).

Coverage sets that are no longer valid but have been previously assigned cannot be deleted from the system. This is to maintain historical integrity of data. A coverage set can be deactivated by setting this value to NO, so it can no longer be assigned.

Code

The alphanumeric short name or abbreviation for this coverage set.

Description

The label describing this coverage set.

Post Time

The time of day that determines when the scheduling Posted Day begins. This primarily affects how the staffing needs are loaded, but may also affect how the coverage is totaled.

This allows for a Coverage Day to be different than a normal calendar day, which is midnight to the following midnight. In many cases the coverage day is offset, such as 7:00 am one day to 7:00 am of the following day, which may cause one or more coverage periods to exist entirely outside of the assigned calendar day. For example, the N2 coverage period of 11/11 may actually be 3:00 am - 7:00 am on the morning of 11/12.

More About Time Value Fields

Valid

This value is assigned by the system, and indicates if the configuration of this coverage set is completed and the code is able to be assigned. When coverage periods are correctly configured for this coverage set, the value is automatically set to Yes.
