Open Shift Notification gives managers and schedulers the ability to communicate shift availability to staff as quickly as possible. This is especially helpful for communicating availability with the next day or two. You can also broadcast multiple shift openings in the same notification.
You can send open shift notifications by text message, email, and the Interactive Voice Response system. The specific options you can use and how employees receive them depend on how your organization is setup and the preferences the employees have set.
Depending on your organization's needs, you have two options for managing open shift notifications.
The first person to respond to the open shift broadcast is automatically selected to fill the opening. You can also set whether to allow someone to overridethe selection.
Respondents are placed in a queue for the manager or scheduler to select from.
