Activating Event Subscription Messages

To active this feature, settings in more than one screen must be updated. For example, in order for an employee to receive a message that his or her RN license has expired, the feature must be activated in the system, and both the Event Subscription (EmpLicExpired) and the License (RN) must be enabled.

• In order for messages to be displayed in EIS devices, this feature must be enabled at the system level by setting System Indicator TA Solution Standard 5 to Yes.
• In order for a particular message to be displayed, the event must be activated in the Configuration section>System card>Event Subscriptions screen by setting the Device Message Enabled field to Yes

  Indicates whether messages should be displayed to the employees through the EIS devices for this event (Yes/No).

• In order for a specific license or course/competency to be included in the display for a particular message, the Device Message Participation field must be set to Enabled or Enabled with Lockout.

  Indicates the action when an event occurs that is linked to an Event Subscription. For example, if an employee's license has expired, this setting determines whether the employee is given a message and whether that employee can clock into the system.

  Messages can be viewed on the Home page>My Unread Messages screen and in the Actions section>Employee card>Messages screen.

  The following options are available:

  Enabled	This license or course participates in device messaging. A message is generated for the employee when a related event takes place. When a “lockout” occurs for a critical message, the employee sees the lockout messages, but is still able to delete the message and go on to add, edit, and delete clockings as normal.
  Disabled	This license or course does not participate in device messaging. No message is generated when a related event takes place.
  Enabled with Lockout	This license or course participates in device messaging. When a related event takes place, if the severity level of the event is Critical, the employee sees the lockout message, and is NOT able to delete the message. The employee is not be able to add, edit or delete clockings until the issue is resolved.

  • For licenses, this field is located in the Configuration section>System card>License screen.
  • For courses, this field is located in the Configuration section>Education Tracking card>Course/Competency screen.
