License

The License screen defines all licenses and certifications tracked for an organization. A license is formal permission from the proper authorities to perform certain acts or to carry on a certain business, such as practicing medicine.

If a position or profile requires the employee to have a certain license, only employees with a valid license are eligible to be scheduled in the position (provided the license validation is activated in the Selection Style used).

License expiration frequency and/or hospital-wide expiration dates are stored here. Also, a scheduling grace period can be set up for certain licenses, so employees can be scheduled a specified number of days beyond the expiration date.

Licenses can be automatically created or updated when employees complete specific courses. The required course and/or competency information is set up on the Courses section. For more information, see Steps for Creating an Automatically Generated License.

The following sections are available when the Licenses screen is open:

Opens a screen to configure basic information about the license including expiration cycles.

Opens a screen to select and configure courses and competencies required to automatically generate a license record.
