Replicating a Staffing Configuration Record

An existing Staffing Configuration record can be replicated (copied) and modified. This allows a user to copy the information set up on all the tabs and section screens of an existing Staffing Configuration record and modify any values without having to recreate a whole new record.

After you create a Staffing Configuration record, the system limits the fields that you are allowed to edit later; they are read only. This is because the values you select on the Staffing Configuration record affect, and are used to create, other records in the system. If at some point you need a new Staffing Configuration record, you will need to add a new one or replicate an existing one.

To replicate a staffing distribution record, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Configuration section>Scheduling card, open the Staffing Configuration screen.
  2. Search for and open the staffing configuration record to be copied.
  3. Click on the Replicate button in the left pane. A record is created that contains all the information set up on the original staffing configuration record.
  4. Set the Active field to No, until any modifications to this record are completed.
  5. Enter the Effective Date for this record, indicating when this record should be used by the system.
  6. Make any other required changes to the replicated record.
  7. When all changes are completed and this record is ready to be used, set the Active field to Yes.
  8. Save the record. The previous record Expiration Date is set to the day before the effective date of the new Staffing Configuration record.
