Level Assignments
The Level Assignments section button opens a screen to define the Authorization Level and Authorization Level Category information for each role.
The following actions options are available:
Adding a Level Assignment
To add a Level Assignment to this role, complete the following steps.
- Click on the Add button in the left pane.
- Select the Authorization Level Name from the right pane options.
Determines the authorization level associated with the authorization role (e.g. employee, administrator, supervisor, controller, etc.).
- Select the Authorization Level Category Name (optional). This setting is usually used with a Supervisor role to indicate if the supervisor has approval, editing or read-only rights.
Determines the level of access associated with the role, usually associated with a supervisor role (e.g. approver, editor, read only).
Based on this setting, an icon may be displayed on the Time Card Reports and on the Supervisor card in the employee TCS screen.

Approver
|
Approving supervisors have both editing and approving capabilities. The Supervisor may view, edit and approve a report for return to payroll. There may be multiple approving supervisors for any given employee. Approving supervisors are typically those individuals who "sign off" or approve Time Card reports.

Editor
|
Editing supervisors have editing capabilities, but not approving capabilities. An employee may have multiple editing supervisors.

Read Only
|
Read-only supervisors do not have approval or editing capabilities. Read-only supervisors are typically individuals who review reports, but have no need to make any edits to the information.

- Click on the Save button.
Deleting a Level Assignment
To delete one or more Level Assignment records from the open record, complete the following steps:
- Check the box on each record to be removed.
- Click on the Delete Selected button in the left pane.
- A message appears verifying the record should be deleted. Click on Yes to continue.
Filtering the Level Assignments List
All Level Assignment records currently assigned to this record are displayed on the screen. To limit the number of records displayed, a filter can be applied.
- Click on the card arrow to the right of the Filter Criteria bar and enter the filter criteria.
- When the criteria have been entered, click on the Filter button to apply the filter.
- To remove the filter and display all records, click on the Remove Filter button.
Authorization Level Name
Determines the authorization level associated with the authorization role (e.g. employee, administrator, supervisor, controller, etc.).
More About Authorization Level Options
The following authorization level options are available on this screen:
Administrator
|
Grants complete and un-restricted access to applications or processes defined within the system. This level is used only for identifying employees within the system.
|
API
|
This level role was created for use by API. This level is used only for identifying employees within the system.
|
Controller
|
This level role defines access to applications or processes used to manage supervisors within the system. This level identities controllers for Controller Assignments in addition to identifying employees within the system.
|
Employee
|
This level role defines employee access, participation, or processing within the system. This level is used only for identifying employees within the system.
|
Instructor
|
This level role defines instructor/trainer type access, participation, and processing defined within the system. This level is used only for identifying employees within the system.
|
Manager
|
This level role defines manager/supervisor type access, participation, and processing defined within the system. This level is used only for identifying employees within the system.
|
Monitor
|
This level role defines access to applications or processes used to monitor data within the system. This level is used only for identifying employees within the system.
|
Scheduler
|
This level role defines access to applications or processes used to manage employee schedules within the system. This level is used only for identifying employees within the system.
|
Supervisor
|
This level role defines access to applications or processes used to supervise employees within the system. This level identifies supervisors for Supervisor Assignments in addition to identifying employees within the system.

Authorization Level Category Name
