Authorized controllers can Lock a time card record to prevent other users from having access to the record. When finished, the controller can Unlock the record.
To lock a record, click on the box to the left of the supervisor name and select the button indicating the type of lock to set. To unlock the record, check the box to the left and select the appropriate Unlock button.
Note: The Supervisor Lock can only be removed by the user that activated the lock or by a user with a system role of Administrator or Controller.
The following Action options are available in the left pane:
Courtesy Lock |
This lock indicates a user has taken responsibility for handling this specific supervisor time card record. The record is still accessible and editable by other users. It is indicated by the following icon . |
Lock Employee |
This lock indicates a specific controller has exclusive editing rights to this supervisor time card record. The report can only be accessed in Read-Only mode for all other users. It is indicated by the following icon . |
Lock Supervisor/Employee |
This lock prevents all supervisors and controllers from accessing the time card records and making any further changes to the records. This lock is used when closing a payroll for processing. It is indicated by the following icon . |
Unlock Courtesy Lock |
Releases the courtesy lock from the indicated supervisor's time card record. |
Unlock Employee |
Releases the lock from the indicated supervisor's time card record. |
Unlock Supervisor/Employee |
Releases the lock from the indicated employees and supervisors. |
