General

The General screen defines the basic information on this transaction definition. When this screen is completed and saved, click on the Prompt Definition section button to determine the input device prompts used to let employees know what information is required for this transaction.

Depending on the page displayed, the following fields may be available:

Application Code

Legacy

Name

Status

Transaction Category

The following additional section options are available in the left pane:

Prompt Definition

Application Code

Code indicating the software application where this transaction can be accessed (for example, deduction).

Legacy

Used to identify a Transaction Definition record that should be posted to the legacy time and attendance system (i.e. NT version).

The transaction from the reader will be converted from the definition that is assigned to the device to this definition before it is actually passed to the legacy system. Specifically, this option is used while a system is in the process of upgrading (from a legacy system), and some of the employees have been converted to the new system, but others have not.

Name

The alphanumeric short name or abbreviation identifying this transaction.

Status

The status of this transaction, whether it is an active code being used in the system (Current), not presently being used but maintained for historical information (Historical) or a code in progress (Design).

Transaction Category

Indicates the type of this transaction (i.e. Clocking, Calendar, Adjustment, etc.).
