Lock/Unlock

Use the Lock employee action to lock the employee record. All the screens in the employee record become read only, and records cannot be added, deleted or edited. This feature can be used so that a supervisor has exclusive access to a record to make changes to an employee timecard.

Note: When a time card is locked, many of the Employee Action options are disabled, and the Add and Delete Selected options are not visible. When the timecard is Unlocked, these actions are available again. Only the user who locked an employee record is authorized to unlock it.

In the upper left pane of the employee record, point to the icon with the cursor to view a tool tip indicating the supervisor who has enabled the lock.

Use the Unlock employee action to remove the lock from an employee record so that other authorized users can access it. Only the user who locked an employee record is authorized to unlock it.
