Steps for Adding a New Scheduled Task

To set up a new scheduled task, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Actions section>Processes card, select the Scheduled Task icon.
  2. Select the Add button from the left pane to open a wizard to set up the task.
  3. In the Task field, select the task from the Field Look Up Values in the right pane. Click on the Next button.
  4. Select the record options from the listing by checking the box to the left of each record. If there are multiple cards of options, expand the cards to view the records by clicking on the expand arrow on the right. Select the Next button.
  5. In the Name field, enter a name to identify this task.
  6. In the Active field, indicate if this task is active and should continue to run (Yes/No).
  7. Enter an Expiration Date/Expiration Time if this task should discontinue running on a specified date/time. If this task should continue to run indefinitely, do not enter values in these fields.
  8. In the Timeout (Minutes) enter the maximum allowed number of minutes for running this task. If the process is not completed within the indicted number of minutes, a notification is sent out, and the schedule is updated with the next time it should execute.
  9. Select the Next button.
  10. In the Schedule Range field, select the cycle this task should run from the drop down menu options and click on the Next button:
    1. Month (runs on a cycle based on the calendar month)
      1. Enter the Schedule Frequency, indicating how often within the month the task should be run.
      2. Day of Week (task is run on specified days of the week)
        1. On the General tab, enter the Start Date/Start Time when this cycle should begin to run.
        2. Select the Months tab. For each month that this task should run, set the value from the drop down menu to Yes.
        3. Select the Frequency tab. Select which Week to run this task (first, second, third, fourth, last). Then select which Day of the week to run this report (Sunday-Saturday).
        4. Click on the Finish button to save this task.
      3. Day (task is run on specific dates (1-31) every month)
        1. On the General tab, enter the Start Date/Start Time when this cycle should begin to run.
        2. Select the Months tab. For each month that this task should run, set the value to Yes.
        3. Select the Frequency tab. To select which days of the month to run this task, highlight the number of the day in the Available Days (left) column and drag it to the Chosen Days (right) column. To remove a day from the Chosen Days side, highlight and drag it back to the Available Days column on the left.
        4. Click on the Finish button to save this task.
      4. First/Last (task is run on either the first day or last day of the month)
        1. On the General tab, enter the Start Date/Start Time when this cycle should begin to run.
        2. Select the Months tab. For each month that this task should run, set the value to Yes.
        3. Select the Frequency tab. From the Day field drop down menu, select whether this task is to run on the first or last day of the month.
        4. Click on the Finish button to save this task.
    2. Simple
      1. Enter the Start Date/Start Time when this cycle should begin to run.
      2. In the Range field, select whether this task cycle should be in minutes, days, weeks or years.
      3. In the Frequency field, enter the value of the number of range units for this task. For example, if the Range value is set to weeks, enter the number of weeks in this field.
      4. Click on the Finish button to save this task.
    3. Start Up (this task is automatically run when the system is restarted)
      1. There is no additional set up for this option.
      2. Click on the Finish button to save this task.
