The Indicators tab contains the settings which determine how a process is to work for the selected record.
Indicators have a default setting, which is the setting for all the records in the related screen unless this value is manually updated for a specific record. Default values are set up on the Configuration section>System card>Indicators screen.
The indicator settings of multiple records can be updated at the same time by using the Replace feature. For more information, see the Help section>Record Management>Replacing Record Values.
Note: Not all indicator settings are listed below.

Activity Code Indicator SS Solution Standard 2
Activity Code Indicator SS Solution Standard 2 is used to determine which activity codes accumulate toward coverage totals. Only activity codes with this value set to Y can be used for creating Request to Work options.
Note: This indicator is found in the Configuration section>Scheduling card>Activity Codes card>Indicators tab>Staffing and Scheduling card.
Valid Indicator Options:
N |
Activity does NOT count toward coverage totals |

Schedules for this activity code ARE included in the results list, if the activity code is also authorized by Activity Code Indicator SS Solution Standard 7 or by being included in the Profile Activities. |
Activity Code Indicator SS Solution Standard 3
Activity Code Indicator SS Solution Standard 3 is used to determine whether hours assigned to employees through this activity code should accumulate toward their Scheduled Hours totals. Scheduled hours totals are informational only, and are not validated during the scheduling process. (In contrast, overtime and approved hours totals are validated using the SchedHours rule.)
Valid Indicator Options:
Y |
Yes, hours assigned with this activity code should accumulate towards Scheduled Hours totals. |
N |
No, hours assigned with this activity code should NOT accumulate toward Scheduled Hours totals. |
This indicator is found on the Configuration section>Scheduling card>Activity Codes screen>Indicator tab>Category - Staffing and Scheduling card.
Activity Code Indicator SS Solution Standard 6
Activity Code Indicator SS Solution Standard 6 determines whether the user must enter an activity length when entering a zero-length activity code into the schedule grid.
When this value is set to Y, the user receives a prompt to enter the length of the activity. The user can also specify a start time for the activity, so that this information can be tracked by the system.
Valid Options:
N |
When entering this activity code, an hour value is NOT required. |
Y |
When entering this activity code, an hour value IS required. |
Activity Code Indicator Sched Incentive Standard 1
Activity Code Indicator Sched Incentive Standard 1 determines whether a specific activity code can be used when creating a schedule incentive.
Valid Indicator Options:
N |
Activity is not available to employees for schedule incentives. This activity code is NOT included in the list when creating a schedule incentive record. |
Y |
Activity is available to employees for schedule incentives. This activity code IS included in the list when creating a schedule incentive record. |
Note: This indicator is found in the Configuration section>Scheduling card>Activity Code screen>Indicators tab>Schedule Incentive Management category card.
Activity Code Indicator Schedule Standard 1
Activity Code Indicator Schedule Standard 1 determines whether an activity code is productive or non-productive.
Valid Indicator Options:

Note: This indicator is found in the Configuration section>Scheduling card>Activity Codes screen>Indicators tab>Schedule Process card.
Activity Code Indicator Schedule Standard 2
Activity Code Indicator Schedule Standard 2 determines which shift an activity code should count toward, if any. Each activity code can either count toward the Day shift, the Evening shift, the Night shift, or none of the shifts.
This information is used with the Shift Equity rule, which regulates the number of activities that should be scheduled for each shift within a pay period.
Valid Indicator Options:
D |
The activity code is applied to the employee Day shifts. |
E |
The activity code is applied to the employee Evening shifts. |
N |
The activity code is applied to the employee Night shifts. |
O |
The activity code does not count toward Shift Equity totals. |
Note: This indicator can be found in the Configuration section>Scheduling card>Activity Codes screen>Indicators tab>Schedule Process card.
Activity Code Indicator Schedule Standard 3
Activity Code Indicator Schedule Standard 3 determines whether a specific activity code can be used by the system when populating need-based schedules.
This streamlines the schedule population process, since the system does not need to consider each and every activity code when building the schedule. Other activity codes that should NOT be included are codes that are always manually assigned (such as meetings), codes that are only used for core schedules, non-productive activities (such as OFF or PTO), codes for seldom-used activities (such as a 4-hour shift), etc.
Note: If activity codes are set up under a Profile record, those are the only activities that can be scheduled for that profile. Be sure some of these activity codes are set to Y to allow automatic population.
The default for this indicator is set to N, so only those indicators that should be used for automatic scheduling need to be updated. Multiple activity codes can be updated at the same time by using the Replace feature.
Valid Indicator Options:
N |
This activity code can not be used when automatically populating a schedule. |
Y |
This activity code can be used when automatically populating a schedule. |
Note: This indicator can be found in the Configuration section>Scheduling card>Activity Codes screen>Schedule Process card.
Activity Code Indicator Schedule Standard 4
Activity Code Indicator Schedule Standard 4 is used to determine whether hours assigned to employees through this activity code should accumulate toward their Weekly Overtime Hours totals. Overtime hours totals can be validated during the scheduling process, using the SchedHours rule.
Valid Indicator Options:
Y |
Yes, hours assigned with this activity code should accumulate towards Weekly Overtime Hours totals. |
N |
No, hours assigned with this activity code should NOT accumulate toward Weekly Overtime Hours totals. |
This indicator is found on the Configuration section>Scheduling card>Activity Codes screen>Indicator tab>Category - Schedule Process card.
