Curriculum
The Curriculum screen is used to add, edit and view the curriculum records used in the Education Tracking system. All courses must be assigned to a curriculum, either directly or via a category which is in turn assigned to a curriculum. The curriculum requirements are assigned to employees based on the organization unit, job class or position of their labor distribution assignments. For example, there may be education requirements for all the employees in a facility in the organization (Organization Unit assignment), additional requirements for all RN's (Job Class assignment) in an organization, then additional requirements for the RN's who work in the ICU department (Position requirements).

The defaulted effective date of when this curriculum requirement begins.
- In the Use Hire Date field, indicate whether this requirement expiration should be based on the employees' hire date (Yes) rather than the employees' position assignment date (No).
Indicates whether the requirement Fixed expiration date of the assigned courses will default to the month/day of the employees' hire date rather than to their position effective date (yes/no).
- When this value is set to Yes, the course expiration month/day defaults to the employees' hire date. This ensures the requirement will expire on the employees' anniversary date.
- When this value is set to No, the course expiration month/day defaults to the latest date among the employee hire date, labor distribution begin date, and curriculum content effective date.
- In the Requirement Exempt Date field, enter the hire date from which the course requirements of this curriculum are validated. If an employee was hired before this date, the requirements are not validated.
When a date is entered in this field, any employees whose Hire Date is before this date are exempt from this curriculum requirement.
The curriculum requirement will not display on the Curriculum screen in the employee records.
