The Employee Information Station (EIS) Messaging feature notifies employees via the input device when they have an event message.
Settings on a particular license and on specific courses/competencies determine whether that license or course is included in the messaging and whether a critical message causes a lockout which prevents the employee from badging into the system.
For example, employees may be given an Informational message that a required license will be expiring in 90 days, then a Warning message that their license is going to expire in one day, and finally a Critical message that their license has expired. Depending on settings, when employees receive a Critical message, they may be "locked out", and unable to add, edit or delete clockings until the issue is resolved.
Note: For more information on lockouts, see the Configuration section>System card>Event Subscriptions>Lockout for Critical Messages.
When an event occurs that generates a message, the employees are notified by the following:
Note: For more information on viewing messages, see the Configuration section>System card>Event Subscriptions>Viewing Event Subscription Messages.
To activate this feature, settings in more than one screen must be updated. For example, in order for an employee to receive a message that his or her RN license has expired, the feature must be activated in the system, and both the Event Subscription for an expired license (EmpLicExpired) and the specific License (RN) must be enabled.
The EIS Messaging feature is enabled in the application screen with an indicator setting. |
