Computer Based Training

The Computer Based Training screen displays a listing of Computer Based Training (CBT) options available for the employee. These CBT classes can be taken to fill an education requirement for the employee.

To complete the CBT, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Actions section>Employee card select the Computer Based Training icon .
  2. A listing of CBT courses is displayed.
  3. Click on the icon to the left of the desired CBT class to load the class.
  4. The CBT Program opens in the middle pane. The instructions for completing the CBT are unique to the CBT program and are included on the CBT.
  5. Icons enabling the user to move to the next screen or the previous screen may be included in the body of the CBT. If there are no navigation icons in the CBT, the Action buttons in the left pane are enabled.

Steps for Completing a Computer Based Training Class

The following is the sequence of events when an employee elects to take a Computer Based Training (CBT) class.

  1. From the Actions section>Employee card select the Computer Based Training option.
  2. The employee clicks on the icon of the desired CBT class. The class is automatically launched and the employee is connected by the CBT path to the class.
  3. The employee completes the CBT class.
  4. A download sends the CBT information to the system. Each CBT is linked to a Course/Competency record.
  5. Education Qualification processing is run, which updates the class information to the employee record. The system compares the employee's score to the Minimum Score required by the CBT, to determine if the employee has successfully completed the class.
  6. The CBT transaction details can be viewed in the employee record on the Education Transactions screen.
  7. The Education Requirement processing is run, which compares the employee courses/competencies completed with those that are required, based on the employee labor distribution, position, etc.
  8. The Education Summary in the employee record displays the employee requirements and whether they have been met.
