Lunch Attestation User Guide
The Lunch Attestation feature allows you to enable a prompt that requires employees, when clocking, to answer whether they took complete lunch breaks during their shifts. It is designed to help organizations that wish to or are required to monitor lunch breaks to ensure that employees are receiving their full and uninterrupted breaks.
This feature is only supported using Quick Badge, TimeCall, or the following readers:
- Series 5000 Time Clocks
- EIS Series 1xxx devices, DSI Version 8.8.2.6 and greater
- TA-500 devices, DSI Version 2.4.1.0 and greater
The general process consists of the following actions:
- The employee clocks (through a badge reader, Quick Badge, or TimeCall)
- A prompt appears asking the employee whether the clocking is the final out punch for the shift
- If so, a second prompt asks whether a full lunch break was taken
- The employee answers the prompts
- The clocking continues and the pay processing occurs based on the employee's response to the lunch break prompt
- Supervisors and managers monitor employee responses by using LaborViews and reports
If an employee answers:
- No to the lunch prompt (no lunch break was taken), any automatic lunch deductions are not taken from the shift.
- Yes to the lunch prompt (lunch break was taken), any automatic lunch deductions are taken from the shift.
- If the employee does not answer the prompts, you can have Time and Attendance create an exception message.
Answers to the prompts are saved so that supervisors can take appropriate actions and can run reports, as needed.
