Schedule partners are used to help determine which employees to include on the Qualified Staff tab on the CSO.
The Qualified Staff tab displays employees that are considered to be qualified to work a particular shift. However, the system uses conditions that you set to determine the level of qualification. One of the conditions that you can create is a schedule partner, which is a group of similar organization units or job classes.
Example:
You need another RN to fill a shift, but all of your RNs are scheduled or unavailable. You can view the Qualified Staff tab to find an RN from another organization unit schedule partner.
You have RN1 and RN2 profiles with a need for one RN2. If no RN2 employees are available, the Qualified Staff tab can find an RN1 employee that you set up as a job class schedule partner.
Set up organization unit schedule partners
To set up organization unit schedule partners, complete the following steps.
Tier levels are used to further rank similar schedule partners.
Example:
Departments A, B, and C are Med-Surg units and are set up as schedule partners with each other with a Tier Level of 1.
Departments D and E are Critical Care units and are schedule partners with each other with a Tier Level of 1.
In high-need or low-staff situations, you want to allow employees from Critical Care to float to Med-Surg (and vice versa). To do this for the Current Staffing Overview, you would create a third schedule partner group. This new group of schedule partners includes all departments A - E and has a Tier Level of 2. In this example, the qualified staff will come from Tier Level 1 first, then Tier Level 2 (all five departments).
This step allows you to add organization units to this schedule partner group.
Set up job class schedule partners
To set up job class schedule partners, complete the following steps.
This step allows you to add job classes to this schedule partner group.
