Authentication History

The Authentication History screen displays a record of employee login attempts during the current pay period, including whether or not the attempt was successful, the application code the employee logged into, the windows user and the IP address, if applicable.

This information is retrieved from the AuthenticationHistory table. The AuthenticationHistory table is logged when an employee logs into the Web Portal, ESS, TimeCall® and any Utility that connects to the database (Process Developer, Work Order Installer, etc.)

Application

The number indicating the software application that the employee attempted to log into.

Date/Time

Indicates the day of week, the date and the time that the employee attempted to log into the system.

Employee Name

The name of the employee who logged into the system.

Impersonated Name

The name of the employee who "impersonated" the authentication history, for example, when a user goes into an employee record and does actions there (e.g. self scheduling) as if they were the employee.

IP Address

The address of the computer used by the employee to log into the system.

Login Type

The type of login value used (i.e. User Name).

Login Value

The value that the user typed into the login field.

Status

The type of event from the authentication process (e.g. success, user not found in system, account disabled, and password change is required).
