Overtime Determination

The Overtime Determination button opens a screen to view, add or delete overtime records. These records indicate the qualifying hours for each overtime pass. Those passes completed first are least likely to become overtime.

Depending on the page displayed, the following fields may be available:

The following additional section options are available in the left pane:

General

Adjustments

This field defines whether the hours accumulating toward overtime are from adjustments, and also the type of adjustment included (i.e. Manual, Automatic, Both, None).

Branch Category

This field defines whether the hours accumulating toward overtime are from the branch-level organization unit that is the employees' home, non-home, or both.

Note: The Trunk, Branch, and Leaf Category organization levels are the three main structure levels linked to the Time & Attendance applications. These are set with the initial configuration of the software and are displayed in the Organization Link Levels screen.

Branch Group

Indicates the overtime priority value as set up in the branch-level Organization Unit configuration screen, Processing parameters.

Calendars

This field defines whether the hours accumulating toward overtime are from calendars (Yes/No).

Clockings

This field defines whether the hours accumulating toward overtime are from employee clocking information (Yes/No).

Code

A short, alphanumeric name or abbreviation for this overtime hierarchy.

Description

The label describing the overtime hierarchy code.

Group Order

This field defines the order the associated entry is accumulated.

NOTE: The first Overtime Category found in the Hierarchy screen is processed in entirety regardless of other records with the same sequence number.

Job Class Category

This field defines whether the hours accumulating toward overtime are from the home job class, the non-home job class, or both.

Job Class Groups

This field defines overtime priority associated with the job class.

Labor Distribution Category

This field defines whether the hours accumulating toward overtime are from home or alternate labor distributions.

The valid values for this field are as follows:

  • Primary Home

Hours worked in the employee’s home labor distribution record are included when accumulating this record

  • Alternate Home

Hours worked in the employee’s home distribution alternate position are included when accumulating this record.

  • Alternate

Hours worked in the employee’s alternate labor distribution records are included when accumulating this record.

  • Non-Home/Non-Alternate

Hours worked in a non-home labor distribution which does not match an alternate record in the labor distribution table.

  • All

All hours are included when accumulating this record.

Leaf Category

This field defines whether the hours accumulating toward overtime are from the leaf-level organization unit that is the employees' home, non-home, or both.

Leaf Group

Indicates the overtime priority value as set up in the leaf-level Organization Unit configuration screen, Processing parameters.

Override Code

This field defines whether the hours accumulating toward overtime are associated with a specific overtime Override Code.

Overtime Accumulation Method

This field defines the pay types that accumulate toward overtime. Each pay code is mapped to a pay type through the Pay Code screen.

Overtime Category

This field defines the type of Overtime accumulated (i.e. Posted Day Overtime, Weekly/Pay Period Overtime, Continuous Shift Overtime, 24.00 Hour Fixed Period Overtime).

Overtime Paid

This field defines whether the hours accumulating toward overtime may be converted to overtime (Yes/No).

Position Category

This field defines whether the hours accumulating toward overtime are from the employees' home position, non-home position, or both.

Position Group

This field defines overtime priority associated with the position.

Schedules

Not currently used in the system.

Special Code

This field defines any special codes associated with the hours accumulating towards overtime.

Trunk Category

This field defines whether the hours accumulating toward overtime are from the trunk-level organization unit that is the employees' home, non-home, or both.

Trunk Group

Indicates the overtime priority value as set up in the trunk-level Organization Unit configuration table, Processing parameters.

Action Buttons

The following Action buttons may be available in the left pane for adding or deleting related records:

Add

Delete Selected
