- Navigate to the Configuration section > Scheduling card > Staffing Configuration screen.
- Search for and open the desired organization unit.
- Click the Schedule Incentive tab.
- Select the incentive method this organization unit is using.
- Select the appropriate Schedule Incentive Selection Style from the Field Look Up Values in the right area.
- Select the appropriate Schedule Incentive Auto Approval Exception Override option.
- In the Default Type field, select the default incentive method, either Flat Dollar or Percentage.
If both methods were enabled in step 4, this default method initially appears when setting up an incentive schedule.
- In the Default Days Before field, enter the number of days before the shift that the shift becomes available to employees to start requesting through Schedule Incentive.
- In the Default Open Time field, enter the time of day that the shift becomes available for employees to start requesting through Schedule Incentive.
Example: Default Days Before is set to 30 days and Default Open Time is 07:00. An incentive schedule is created for April 30. Employees can start requesting the shift on April 1 at 07:00.
- In the Default Closed Hours Before field, enter the number of hours before the start of the shift that the shift is no longer available for employee Schedule Incentive requests.
- In the Default Days Before Create field, enter the number of days before the schedule that the manager or scheduler can set up the incentive schedule.
- If using the Flat Dollar method, set the value in the Schedule Incentive Minimum Dollar Increment field to the minimum dollar increment that an employee must enter.
- Enter a Default Lunch Length value.
- When using the Percentage method, this value is used when the manager or scheduler is creating the Schedule Incentive offer.
- When using the Flat Dollar method, the lunch length attached to the activity code is used.
- In the Organization Unit Level 1-9 Days Before fields, enter the number of days before the shift that the shift becomes available to employees in other organization units.
By opening the Schedule Incentive process to other organization units, other employees can request shifts that were not requested by employees in the original organization unit or shifts with requests that have not yet been approved.
- In the Organization Unit Level 1-9 Open Time fields, enter the time of day that the shift becomes available to employees in other organization units.
Example: The incentive schedule is set up and is available for a department 30 days in advance of the shift. However, if no one requests the shift or a request has not yet been approved, the next organization unit level up (for example, facility) can get the opportunity. You might set up the facility to be able to request 5 days in advance of the shift. So in this example, the first 25 days are open to the department and the final 5 days are open to the department and the facility.
