Steps for Changing the Default Indicator Setting

Note: This process only sets the default value for new records that are created after the setting is changed; it does not update this indicator value on existing records.

To update indicator values on an existing record, open the related screen, access the indicator tab and update the value. To update multiple existing records at the same time, use the Replace feature. See Replacing Record Values for more information on this feature.

The default value for an indicator can be changed by authorized users by completing the following steps:

  1. From the Configuration section>System card>Indicators screen search for the record of the indicator to be updated.
  2. Select the Values button in the left pane. A listing of the valid indicators is displayed.

The value that is currently set as the default has a check mark in the Default column.

  3. Click the card arrow on the record to be set as the new default.
  4. Set the Default field to the appropriate setting.
  5. Save the record.

The Default field of the updated indicator value is now checked to show that it is the default. Any new records created will have this indicator set to Y. Records that were set up when the default was set to N will continue to have the setting of N, unless the value is updated.
